Privacy Policy

Our Commitment
The Shining Light of Liberty is committed to protecting your privacy. We collect the absolute minimum data necessary to understand how our site is used, and we do so in a way that makes it impossible to identify any individual visitor.
What We Do Not Collect
We do not use cookies. We do not store your IP address. We do not use browser fingerprinting. We do not track you across sessions or across websites. We do not use any third-party analytics services. We do not share any data with third parties. We do not serve advertisements.
What We Do Collect
For each page visit, we collect anonymous, aggregated metrics including which page was viewed, approximate time spent on the page, your country of origin, and a cryptographic hash that allows us to count unique visitors within a single day.
The hash is computed using your IP address combined with a daily-rotating secret salt. The raw IP address is never written to any database, log, or file. The salt is permanently deleted every 24 hours, at which point the hash becomes mathematically irreversible — it is impossible for anyone, including us, to determine which IP address produced a given hash after the salt is deleted.
This approach is modeled on Plausible Analytics, which has been independently assessed by data protection lawyers as compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR without requiring consent banners.
Accounts & Donations
If you create an account to use the site, your authentication email is required for login and cannot be deleted while your account is active — you may delete your entire account instead, which removes all associated data. Donation information is processed securely through Stripe and is not stored on our servers.
International Visitors
This site is operated from the United States and is governed by United States law. Because we do not store personal data, use cookies, or track individuals, our analytics approach does not require consent under most international privacy frameworks. International visitors are shown a jurisdiction notice upon their first visit.
